Ludlow Dog Day surpassed the most hopeful expectations of Ludlow RC and raised over £21,000 for four chosen charities: two for people and two for dogs. The weather was kind, Stokesay Court estate provided a magnificent backdrop, and the feedback from over three thousand spectators and competitors was overwhelming positive. Stall holders too had a successful day. “Best in Show” was Beau, a Bolognese from Bedstone, which was also voted the “Dog judges would most like to take home”!

Main beneficiaries will be Severn Hospice, Megan Baker House, Canine Partners, and PDSA, with smaller donations going to a number of other local charities. Ludlow RC is extremely grateful to Rotarians from Bridgenorth, Leominster, and Church Stretton RCs who joined over 120 other volunteers to make the day a safe and fun event. We must thank our sponsors, in particular Tuffins Supermarkets, Teme Vets, Hobsons Brewery, and Hatfield Jaguar/LandRover who provide the seed money to stage the event before receipts roll in on the day.

It is our intention to give all £21,000 to deserving causes.
